April 1st - May 1st is one of the best times to target Brown Trout on Lake Ontario. While waiting for those crazy king Salmon to show up Brown Trout can offer non-stop action with most fish averaging 3-8 pounds. With the use of lighter gear these fish can be a blast. Not to mention there is also no reason for a nice spring Steelhead or a domestic King Salmon to take out offerings. Brown Trout are very pretty fish, and to catch them we will be trolling the shorelines of Lake Ontario for the most part.
